We just want to clarify that the Eastern Region Senior Championships is open to all fencers age 13 and above.
The GB Cup qualifying part is a separate calculation to choose 2 fencers per weapon using the following criteria:

Be aged 16 or over on 1 January 2018.
Be ranked outside of the top 50 of National Senior rankings in their weapon for Women’s Foil, Epee, Sabre and Men’s Sabre and top 80 for Men’s Foil and Epee as at 1 January 2018.
Have never represented their Nation at any level (including GB, home nations or other national equivalents).
Have never won a Senior Open event
Fencers may only enter the Regional event in the Region they have specified on their British Fencing Membership.
Fencers may only fence in one qualifying event per season.
Fencers may only enter the GB Cup in one weapon.
Fencers must be UK residents.
Entries will only be accepted via the Regions.

This may mean that the fencers who win gold and silver the senior champs may not be eligible.
If you think you meet the qualifying criteria, get entering. You could be fencing for Eastern Region!

Despite this, the Senior Championships is still run the same as previous years.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) and fencing...

The Eastern Region is still here to promote, support and encourage fencing and fencers within the region. Keep track of what our governing body is doing, please use the link below to take you directly to British Fencing. Our events will be running, but will still have Covid requirements. Otherwise follow the official guidelines, take care of yourselves and each other!
