UEA Fencing

Norfolk Fencing Club is the premier adult fencing club within Norfolk and the East Anglian region. The club is based at UEA Sportspark and meets once a week on a Wednesday evening 19:40 – 21:40. These sessions run all year round with the only exception being if the Sportspark is shut, which tends to only be around Christmas and New Year!

We provide an opportunity for UEA students to take part in the fast paced combat sport of Fencing. Beginners, experienced, advanced or social fencers are all welcome and have access to professional coaching and lessons from our advanced members. Our current professional coach, Paul Stimpson, has fenced for more than 25 years and has coached the sport for over 13. All three weapons are used and taught at the club: Foil, Epee, and Sabre. UEA Fencing is consistently one of UEA’s top performing BUCS teams and is ideal for the aspiring and the accomplished fencer alike. As well as fencing, we have an active social side to the club with our Socials Secs organising events throughout the year from pub crawls to lazer tag.
