Eligibility – You must be a member of British Fencing Eastern Region, please check your membership details through Sport80. All fencers must have a ‘COMPETE’ membership. Membership will be validated by organisers
Closing Date: Wednesday 16th October 2019

Equipment: All events are electric.
ALL WEAPONS: A minimum standard of 350N/CEN1 mask with back strap, jacket and breeches for all ages and a plastron of 350N/CEN1 for U12/U14 and 800N/CEN2 for U16 is obligatory, as are long socks pulled up so there is no gap between socks and breeches. Chest guards under the plastron are mandatory for girls.
Foil: Lame foil bibs with connecting straight wire are compulsory for U16 and may be used for U12/U14 but are not obligatory. U12/U14 – maximum blade size 3, U16 – blade size 5 or smaller
Sabre: U12/U14 – maximum blade size 2, U16 – blade size 5 or smaller. 800N/CEN2 gloves obligatory for U16 Sabre.

Venue:  SportsDock, University of East London (Docklands Campus), London E16 2RD (Home of Newham Swords Fencing Club).

Secure parking (included in your fee). Comfortable seating and viewing. Good cafeteria serving hot meals, sandwiches and drinks.

Format: Two rounds of poules followed by DE

Points system: NSJCS Points System (PDF).  Accumulated by BF Number

Prizes: Medals and take home trophies.  Shields for series winners.

Equipment:

  • U10s must use size 0 blades;
  • U12s  and U14 must use size 3 blades or smaller
  • All fencers must wear minimum 350N jacket & breeches and plastron
  • Lamé bibs not required. Such bibs should be taped over by an armourer to avoid damage by the adhesive

Closing Dates: Event 3 Sunday 8th March. Late Entry until Wednesday 11th March

Entry Fee: £32.00

Late entry/late payment fee: £50  (applies after midnight on the closing date above)

The annual and very popular 3-weapon senior fencing competition returns on the 29th Feb 2020.

This is a friendly competition catering for all levels of skill in the sport. The general format of the competition is two rounds of poules in each weapon with the final ranking coming from the results of the second poule. There are no DEs in this competition.

A master of arms trophy will be awarded to the best performing man and woman over all three weapons.

Venue: Hall 1,Sportspark, University of East Anglia, Earlham Road, Norwich, NR4 7TJ

Format:Two rounds of poules in each weapon. The first round will be a seeding round with the second round splitting fencers based on their seeding. I.e. Poule A–Seeds 1 to 6, Poule B–Seeds 7 to 12. Order of weapons will be epée, foil and sabre.

It is possible to enter just one or two weapons.There are no direct eliminations. Men’s and women’s events are separate and will not be combined as they have been in previous years.

Check-In Times:08:30 for epee,11:30for foil and 14:30 for sabre.
Hall opens at 08:00 for competitors and fencers should report to registration at latest by the weapon check-in times stated. Fencing aims to begin 15 minutes after check-in closes.

Entry Limit: Entries for each weapon will be capped with there being 30 fencers in each of the men’s events and 18 in the women’s events. Fencers who enter all three weapons by the closing date will be given priority over those entering only 1 or 2 weapons. All other entries will be taken in order of receipt.

Closing Date: Monday 24th February 2020, late entries will be accepted at the organiser’s discretion and may be subject to a £5 late entry fee. If entering late, please contact the organisers via the details below.

Entry Fees:£15 for one or two weapons, £20 for all three weapons. Entry fees can be paid via cash or online. Equipment Standards: All clothing must comply with the latest regulations which are available on the British Fencing Website (http://britishfencing.com/uploads/files/jan18_approved_safety_guidelines.pdf). If you have any concerns please check with the organisers before the event.

• All fencers MUST wear breeches and long socks (no alternatives) and appropriate electric equipment. This includes an 800N plastron for all weapons.• 800N gloves are required by anyone fencing sabre.
• All fencers will arrive with full kit (clothing and electric). There will be no equipment available to hire/borrow on the day, unless you have previously arranged this with your club/coach.
• We will not be enforcing the requirement for external padding on chest protectors in foil. Refreshments: A café selling a range of food and drink will be open throughout the day.

Prizes: Medals will be awarded to the top three fencers in each event, with the MOA trophies going to the top male and female fencers across all three weapons.
